The Gold Standard

The Gold Standard

Since time immemorial, the color used for the highest medals, awards, celebrations of power and achievement, and trophies has always been gold. In the Navy, the trident of the elite SEALs is gold, as are rank stripes and buttons on dress uniforms. Gold symbolizes success, power, and accomplishment.

To celebrate the color gold and its significance, Luminox is introducing touches of gold in its Navy SEAL 3500 Series in a special limited edition of 1,618 units.
Why 1,618 units, you ask? 1,618 is the whole number equivalent of phi, also known as the Golden Number, the Golden Proportion and the Golden Ratio.
All aspects of design rely on proportion, especially watches, and the designers of Luminox use this golden ratio when developing new models. Applying this golden proportion makes things more aesthetically pleasing, as it is often found in the beauty of nature.

This special Navy SEAL 3500 GOLD limited edition features a 45 mm CARBONOX™ case, which is light, tough and incredibly durable, and water resistant to 200 meters. The watch comes with two straps, one rubber and one NATO.
The elegant gold touches are on the hands, the crown, the first 20 minutes on the uni-directional turning bezel, the caseback, and the 24 hour numbers on the dial, – gold even outlines the Luminox logo at 12 o’clock.
On the caseback, engraved in gold, is the limited-edition number (XXXX/1618) and the Navy SEAL insignia, called the “SEAL Trident,” which is given to all those who complete the Basic Underwater Demolition (BUD/S) training. The insignia is actually four symbols in one - the golden eagle symbolizes the SEALs’ competence in the air; the pistol, the SEALs’ ability on land; the trident for the SEALs’ dominance in the sea; and the anchor represents the Navy itself.

Despite its sophisticated look, the new 3500 GOLD is a pure Navy SEAL timepiece at its heart. Officially licensed by the Department of the Navy and created with input from active-duty US Navy SEALs, it is built to withstand anything and everything, and it incorporates Luminox’s Light Technology, making sure that your timepiece is visible in any light conditions for up to 25 years.

The Luminox Navy SEAL 3500 GOLD is the Gold Standard in rugged outdoor timepieces.
