Konrad Kaufmann
5th Fittest 65+ Man on Earth | Devoted Father & Grandfather
Konrad ‘Koni’ Kaufmann doesn’t believe in slowing down. At 65 years old, the Swiss native recently earned the title of 5th Fittest 65+ Man on Earth at the 2025 CrossFit Games, proving that resilience, grit, and discipline are timeless traits.
We sat down with Koni to get to know him a little more and understand what makes him tick.

A Lifetime of Movement
Born and raised in Switzerland, Koni has always led an active life—from playing ice hockey in the Swiss National League, to skiing, tennis, and weight training. After decades running the family business and raising a family of his own, Koni stumbled into CrossFit by accident while in Mallorca. What started as curiosity quickly became a calling.
“I signed up for a foundation course—and I haven’t stopped since. CrossFit gave me new goals, new purpose. At 65, I’m still improving. That’s the beauty of it.”
Resilience in Setbacks
Koni underwent two hip replacements—the result of a childhood condition that left his joints vulnerable from a young age. Most people might have scaled back, but not Koni. “I had the surgery at 52, which the doctor said was very late compared to others,” he recalls. “Honestly, I feel good. Maybe it’s a bit harder, but I don’t feel limited. I can still do so much and that’s what matters.”
His body is not a limitation. His mental strength and resilience have kept him progressing—proof that it’s not about being the fastest or strongest, but about showing up, every day, with intention.

The Road to the Games
Since his first CrossFit Open in 2018, Koni has steadily climbed the ranks. From placing 300 to finishing 6th in the world at this year’s Open and 3rd in the Semifinals, he surprised even himself.
“Every year, there’s new progress. This year, I got my first bar muscle-up and improved my back squat by five kilos,” he says. “At my age, it’s something to be proud of.”
Koni’s mindset heading into the Games? “Enjoy it. Do your best. Be present.” No ego, just gratitude. That attitude helped carry him to the top five—and earned him the respect of the global CrossFit community.
A Lifestyle Rooted in Balance & Humility
Despite his high-level performance, Koni remains deeply rooted in what matters most—his family and community. “Every Friday, I look after my granddaughters—one and four years old. That’s my favorite day of the week,” he says with a smile. “Then I train the rest of the week. It keeps my body moving and my mind clear.” He trains 5–6 times a week, logs up to 15 hours of workouts, and still makes time to mentor and uplift others at his local CrossFit box, We.Fit Wädenswil, in his lakeside town. Whether it’s a first-timer nervous about lifting a barbell, or a neighbor looking to get in shape, Koni’s door—and heart—are always open.

A Community Icon
In Wädenswil, Koni isn’t just admired for his athleticism. He’s known as a quiet motivator, a kind soul who offers encouragement with no expectation of recognition. His presence inspires people of all ages to move more, smile more, and take care of their bodies.“ He’s the kind of person who makes you believe you can do more—just by being around him,” one gym member shared. “He listens more than he talks, and when he speaks, you trust every word.”

Koni’s Advice
“Everything starts with the first step. Believe in what you’re doing, and find something you love,” he shares. “For me, it’s CrossFit. For someone else, it might be something different. But the important thing is to move, so you can age well—and live fully.” At Luminox, we believe that toughness isn’t loud—it’s consistent, humble, and relentless. Just like Koni.
Whether in the gym, at home with family, or walking through his lakeside town, Koni exudes a quiet confidence and unshakable positivity that has earned him deep respect across his community. He leads by example, never seeking the spotlight—just focused on doing the work.
Just like Luminox watches that are built for those who never back down, Koni has a relentless drive, resilience through adversity, and the genuine kindness that leaves a lasting impression on everyone he meets.
That’s why we’re honored to call him our Everyday Hero.
